Pieter Cloete serves as a video journalist at the Afrikaans news website Maroela Media. Since May 2023, his role involves capturing and producing compelling visual news stories, conducting interviews, and delivering high-quality video content that informs and engages the Afrikaans-speaking community. Combining his media expertise with innovative storytelling, Pieter ensures that critical stories are brought to life through the power of video.

Hosting the dynamic and engaging Saturday show from 11 am to 4 pm, delivering compelling content (Klankkoerant naweek), boeremusiek with Deon van der Merwe and the top-20, which is hosted by Pieter Koen.  Leveraging over 16 years of extensive experience in radio broadcasting, proficient in live presenting, audience engagement, content curation, and fostering strong listener connections. Pieter Cloete has been a dynamic force in South African radio, serving as Head of Music at Groot FM from 2017 to 2023 and as a presenter since 2016. His contributions to the station's programming and his engaging on-air presence have earned him multiple prestigious Radio Awards. Pieter’s passion for music and storytelling has solidified his reputation as a trusted and influential voice in the broadcasting industry.

Pieter Cloete served as Head of Music at Groot FM from 2017 to 2023, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the station's musical identity and curating playlists that resonated deeply with its audience. Pieter’s expertise in understanding listener preferences and market trends ensured Groot FM remained a top choice for contemporary and chart topping music enthusiasts. During his tenure, he also championed local talent and maintained high programming standards, contributing to the station's multiple industry accolades. His leadership in music strategy was complemented by his ongoing role as a presenter since 2016, further cementing his influence in South African radio broadcasting.

Pieter Cloete contributed as a Technical and Communications Specialist at Inclusive Solutions. His responsibilities included providing overall product support to clients and spearheading web development and blog content. Pieter's versatile skill set ensured seamless and effective technical support and enhanced the organisation’s outreach and client engagement.

Pieter Cloete played a multifaceted role during his time at Knysna FM, showcasing his skills as both a broadcaster and a team contributor. As the Drive Time Presenter for the 15h00 to 18h00 weekday slot, Pieter delivered engaging, relevant content to listeners. He was also responsible for compiling news stories of interest, ensuring the community stayed informed.

In addition to his on-air duties, Pieter assisted with marketing efforts and contributed to and managed the Plett Breakfast Show stream into Knysna FM on weekday mornings from 6:00 to 7:45. 

Pieter served as National Marketing Manager at GO Life Health Products Ltd (March 2009 – January 2013), leading product restaging, packaging consolidation, and in-store branding initiatives. He developed and implemented brand strategies, ATL and BTL marketing campaigns, and launched the GO BUDDY Project as part of the company’s Corporate Social Investment efforts. Additionally, Pieter facilitated sales and promoter training and oversaw social media marketing plans.

Pieter was the owner of PAC Produksies in Knysna (November 2004 – February 2009), specialising in in-store activations and promotions for notable clients such as The Creative Counsel, Pernod Ricard, Distell, Jane Simon Wines, and Coca-Cola. Pieter also provided public relations consulting, advising companies on effective communication strategies to align with their target audiences and business objectives. His work combined creativity and strategic insight to deliver engaging campaigns and enhance brand presence.
